At Yew Tree we are very lucky to have two Co-Headteachers, Janet Postlethwaite and Suzanne Lomax, pictured left.
Here's a bit about them both.... Janet has worked at Yew Tree for 15 years. She has always taught in key stage two and mainly taught year six children which she loved! Janet said, "Every year I look forward to seeing our children, parents and school striving to work together to achieve our best. I am very proud to be Co-Headteacher of Yew Tree and look forward to making our school the best it can possibly be. I believe that teaching and learning should be of the highest quality for every child, in every lesson, every day to enable them to fulfil their potential and a lifelong love of learning."
Suzanne has worked as a teacher for 35 years, 21 of which have been at Yew Tree, she started off as a teacher in key stage one which she thoroughly enjoyed and then was promoted to Deputy Headteacher in 2012. Suzanne said, “I am very proud to be the Co-Headteacher and I believe children learn best when they are happy, safe and enjoying their time at school and this is what I aim to achieve for all our children, all of the time. The children are part of our school family which has a nurturing environment, where I know real differences can be made to the outcomes for all children.”
Our vision is to provide an environment where our children are safe, happy, kind, have a thirst for knowledge and are life-long enthusiastic learners. We want our children to be curious and inquisitive, to take risks and approach challenge with confidence, excitement and independence. We aim to nurture their talents, ensure their aspirations are high and prepare them for their future as adults.
